Introducing Teresa!
Teresa is an exceptionally talented and gifted poet, with remarkable passion and determination to make impactful strides in the world through her craft and this is very obvious in her zeal and her consistency in the world of Literature, specifically poetry speaks for itself. Her relatable and aesthetic style of writing is exactly why Teresa is now here on the most prestigious Poetry platform in the world.
Today, we take a  foray into the world of Teresa with excerpts below detailing her awesome story.

I am Teresa, and I come from a small town nestled deep in the Austrian Alps. I was born into a large, tight-knit family – something that was both a blessing and a curse growing up. On the one hand, there was always someone to share adventures with; on the other, my belongings were in a constant state of “disappearance”.
My mum is Austrian, and my dad is British, so I was raised more or less bilingually. I say “more or less” because my dad, who worked a lot during my childhood, was only around on weekends. Growing up bilingually was not always easy. There was a period during my teenage years when I deliberately answered in German whenever I spoke to my dad. I can’t tell you how often I heard the phrase “in English!” during this time – usually followed by a classic eye roll from me.
Then there was a time in my early twenties in which I actively hid the fact that my dad was British, because it came with certain expectations - expectations I was convinced I could not live up to. I didn’t have the typical British accent, and I certainly made plenty of mistakes. I saw myself as flawed and imperfect and was often reluctant to admit that English was actually my “father tongue”.
However, I did notice that I had a knack for written English. After my A-level exams, I decided to study English at university and pursue a career in teaching. I loved studying the language and soon discovered a real passion for writing prose. After graduating, I spent some time in Australia, collecting the set of “classic” experiences – waking up to enormous spiders on my bedroom wall and close encounters with venomous snakes – before officially starting my teaching career.
Teaching, though often mentally and emotionally demanding, has been incredibly rewarding. Guiding teenagers on their way to adulthood and sharing my love for the English language has given me a sense of purpose.

I only started writing poetry recently, when I hit a rough patch in my life. In August 2024, I came awfully close to exiting this world prematurely. I was on a multi-day high mountain tour with a close friend when we suffered a terrible fall. While traversing a steep glacier, my climbing partner slipped and pulled me down with him. We tumbled 200 meters down the north face, coming to a miraculous stop just before a massive crevasse. We were airlifted to the hospital and, against all odds, made a full recovery.
But the experience changed me deeply. You never really anticipate that something you only hear about on the news could one day happen to you. Afterwards, I began to question many aspects of my life. I realised that I wanted to make changes. Abandoning my comfort zone and venturing out into the unknown was truly terrifying, though.

That’s when I discovered the quiet power of poetry. Writing became a creative outlet – a way to bring order to my sometimes chaotic inner world. It has helped me navigate emotional confusion, find clarity and promote my mental wellbeing. I’m still on a journey – a work in progress as a writer and a human – and I am learning to embrace the uncertainty along the way.
About two months ago I began sharing my poetry online. For me, it’s not about recognition – it’s about connection. It’s about sharing my pain in the hope that others might find comfort in knowing that they are not alone. If my poetry resonates with even one person out there or offers a small light to someone navigating a dark moment, then that’s more than enough.

Teresa's ability as a Poet and all round creative of repute is World Class  as she was personally recommended by International Bestseller and respected Poet, Joseph Spencer, as in his exact words "Teresa is a talented wordsmith . She has a very bright future ahead of her".
