Interview with Jacqueline!
Jacqueline Kimberly is becoming a staple name in the world of poetry. Her debut book, "Confessions Over Tequila" made it to the Amazon Bestsellers list in multiple categories, prominently also the coveted Canadian Poetry Charts.
Interview excerpts below:
1. Confessions Over Tequila just charted in the Canadian PoetryBestsellers List and numerous other charts. How are you feeling?
 
Honestly? I was in complete disbelief for the first couple of days. I kept double-checking, thinking it couldn’t be real. It didn’t fully register at first.

Now that it’s finally sinking in, I feel incredibly grateful and genuinely happy. This book came from such a raw, honest place, so seeing it resonate like this means more than I know how to put into words.

2. Spencer says you are one of the new members of the Collab Tour. Explain how important being a part of the Collab Tour has been on your journey to greatness ?

Being part of the Collab Tour has been incredibly important to my journey. It’s given me exposure I wouldn’t have had otherwise and helped my work reach readers I may never have found on my own. Beyond that, the support within the community means everything to me. Everyone genuinely lifts each other up, and that kind of encouragement makes a real difference. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without it, and I’m so grateful to be a part of it.

3. What was the writing process for “Confessions Over Tequila”?

Confessions Over Tequila was written in just under a week—not because I was rushing, but because the truth kept pouring out of me. Once I started, it felt like I couldn’t stop. I used prompts I found online to spark some of the pieces, but every poem holds truth—whether it’s something I’ve personally experienced or something I’ve closely observed. The book came from a very real, unfiltered place.

4. Describe how the reception has been so far since your book got released?

The reception has honestly been overwhelming in the best way. I didn’t know what to expect, so seeing people connect with the book, share it, and reach out to tell me how much it resonated with them has meant everything. Watching it chart and reach new readers has been surreal, but what’s mattered most is knowing the words landed where they were meant to.


5. Did you envisage that your book would be so successful?

I knew the book held potential, but I had no idea what the outcome would be. I'm pleasantly surprised.

6. Your parting statement to your fans across the globe?

I’m just incredibly thankful—to the readers, the poetry community, and everyone who believed in my words before I fully did. This is only the beginning.
