Today, we take an indepth journey into the world of Keisha with excerpts below from Keisha herself chronicling her come up story, that is both fascinating and very informative.


Keisha loves God and she loves people. Her heart’s desire is for people to know and feel the unconditional love of God while going through the hardest times of their lives. And the best way Keisha knows how to fulfill this Calling is through words of healing, mental health advocacy, empathy, knowledge, and encouragement.

K.A. “Keisha” Nelson is a Licensed ( Minister who serves in the Outreach Ministry. She’s a Mental Health Advocate, Writer, Poet, and the Founder of Flawed with Purpose, which is a Mental Health Awareness Community for Poets, Artists and Writers to embrace their Creative Gifts while navigating the process of healing through mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health.

At a young age, Keisha was in several school plays and wrote short stories. She later won state awards in Theater, and went to college on a full band scholarship. While in college, Keisha was an English and Spanish Tutor for the University. She also met her husband. The two have been married for almost 22 years. They have one teenage daughter in high school. 

Although K.A. received her Bachelors in Telecommunications and English, she did not embrace her gift or calling as a Writer until she was personally affected by mental illness. She spent her first 12 years after graduation as a successful Fitness Professional for Private Owned, Government, Collegiate, and Franchised facilities. After multiple injuries resulting in surgery, chronic sickness and the inability to no longer hide behind a fit physique, an accident and PTSD forced Keisha to take care of her mental health in 2016.

Her healing journey officially began. The old scribble journals were found. She listened to the words that made her pen move. The Silence was over.

Keisha has been published in 4 Anthologies and has Self Published one Poetry book and healing journal. She has authored multiple ebooks for self-guided healing for emotional and spiritual guidance. Keisha has also written Faith based Curriculums, Bible Studies and Devotionals. She’s a Spoken Word Artist, Motivational Speaker, Content Editor, and Essay Writing Coach for High School Students. 

Serving in the community and helping God’s people heal in order to become their best selves is her passion. Poetry is an extension of how people can heal and grow. Poetry is love. Poetry is words in motion. It’s how God speaks to Keisha.
