Today, we take a journey into the world of Lakita with excerpts below chronicling her incredible story

Lakita, also known as butterflypoet86, is a poet and self-published author hailing from Nashville, TN. Her poetry emanates tranquility and is gracefully guided by the embrace of God's love. The roots of her poetic journey date back to childhood, where she sought solace in expressing the complexities of love and pain. Notably, her poetic prowess gained recognition when a heartfelt Spanish poem, crafted during a 9/11-related project, impressed her Spanish teacher and made its way to her English teacher. This moment marked the inception of a collective poetry book at her high school, with Lakita's contribution standing as the opening piece
Amid the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, Lakita wholeheartedly immersed herself in her poetic endeavors, establishing her Instagram poetry page, butterflypoet86. The art of poetry has transformed into a rebirth, akin to a Phoenix rising within her. In October 2023, she marked a significant milestone with the debut of her first poetry book, "Unknown Love," a poignant reflection on her experience of being catfished, available on Amazon. Currently, she is diligently working on her second book, slated for a June 2024 release.
