INTRODUCING POWER HOUSE POET, NICOLE!
Nicole is an Incredibly gifted poet with a tenacious drive and zeal to make impactful strides in the World through her craft and this is very evident in her strides in the world of Literature, especially in the genres of Poetry, where she has been able to make significant strides and has a very devoted fanbase worldwide.
Today, we take a little dive into the world of Nicole with excerpts below chronicling her story.

Hi, I’m Nicole, but you can call me Nikki or Nix, a proud mother of two and a manager at an investment company, nestled in the heart of Canada. I am a shy introvert by nature and love spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, hiking, biking, camping, being outdoors, engaging in photography, listening to music, and of course, writing.

My path into the world of words began in the hallways of high school, scribbling love poems to my first love. For a while, life took over, and my pen lay dormant as I immersed myself in college, the demands of my job, life, getting married (my second love), and becoming a mom.

But then 2020 hit, and with it, the world changed. As I ventured into social media, led by the hand of the one who later broke me, during the quiet days of COVID, I found not just a platform but a community. It was here, in June 2020, that I embarked on my keto journey, a path that guided me not just to physical health but also to a renewed sense of self.
It was in the digital embrace of this newfound world that I reconnected with my love for poetry. A friend I met in June of 2021 became the catalyst, encouraging me to use words as a balm for heartbreak and a shield against the storms of trauma. Thus, my “brain dump” poetry page was born, a therapeutic outlet where my thoughts flowed freely, unburdened and raw.

Life, however, had more challenges in store. I was later diagnosed with PTSD, major depression, and social anxiety, stemming from the traumas I endured.

 In April of 2023, I was inspired by my friend again to rekindle my love for writing poetry. This led me to start a new page called ‘Always Second Best,’ a space where I spill my mind, heart, and soul onto the page about my experiences with heartache, anxiety, and depression, along with my fairytale love story and poetry inspired by my love for music. It’s been a place for me to transform my experiences of betrayal and emotional struggle into poetry. In the creative world, I am known as “Always Second Best” or “The Hollow-One,” symbolizing my journey as an introvert trying to find my voice among the struggles with inner demons and the pain of love lost to betrayal.

Demons in my head, second best,
But I won’t let them put me to the test.
I’ll fight, I’ll push, and I’ll never rest,
Till I conquer the hollow feeling in my chest.

Poetry for me became more than an outlet; it transformed into a lifeline. Through every line, every stanza, I find pieces of myself, sometimes lost, sometimes rediscovered. My poetry is my journey, a map of highs and lows, of love lost and strength found. Each word is a step towards healing.

In this journey, one of the most heartwarming experiences has been the incredible support and encouragement from the creative (writing, poetry, artist) community. It’s a space where every word I write is met with kindness and understanding, a place where I’m not just heard, but also deeply felt. This community has become a sanctuary for me, offering solace and strength on days when I’ve felt most vulnerable.

I want to extend a big heartfelt thank you to everyone for your support and for being a part of my journey! It truly warms my heart. A huge THANK YOU to Joseph for featuring me on your page! It’s truly an honour, and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to share my love for poetry with you all. Also, a special thanks to @darkgothicaiart for the incredible artwork I use on my wall, which also inspires me on my journey.
It has been a true blessing to discover others who resonate with my experiences, and to follow along as they traverse their own paths, has been an eye-opening and humbling experience. Learning from their stories, their struggles, and triumphs has enriched my own perspective, reminding me that while our journeys are unique, we share a common thread of humanity. This bond, forged through shared emotions and experiences, has been a source of immense comfort and inspiration, fuelling my passion for poetry and the power of words to connect us all. It serves as a poignant reminder that in our struggles, we are never truly alone.
