Today, we take a  foray into the world of Rie with excerpts below detailing her incredible story.

"I am Rie, a poet, storyteller, and seeker of inspiration. I have double Masters of Honours degrees in Arts and Political Science. I have another degree in Post Graduation in Journalism: Mass Media and Creative Writing for Films and Television Writing As A Creative Writer for Films and Documentaries etc. I love to write and read and I worked as an Education Counselor for some years before my Mother's ill health and first stroke and after her first stroke I resigned from my job to stay with my mother as much as possible. I was very close to her. She stayed one more year with us and left us to her heavenly abode after her second stroke because of her kidney damage and on her very first dialysis we lost her. When she passed away I fell into depression and it affected my health badly. I was hospitalized so many times and came back home to face her absense and pain at first. I have lost one of my two beloved brothers also, and that was also the reason of my beloved Mother's early death. She couldn't bear his absense. I started writing letters for her and my brother, in these letters I wrote about things I couldn't share with them, or how much I loved them etc, this was the beginning of my writing journey and I started writing letters, poetry and prose in my journal as writing was always therapeutic to me, its my way of self talk and a way to communicate with people close to my heart.

As a Writer and a Poet, I am thrilled to introduce myself to the beautiful poetry community. My life has been a journey of ups and downs, but I never break the threads of resilience, patience and curiosity, and creativity for crafting my poetic verses that captures the essence of my life's struggle, pain and beauty. I have been writing since I was 12, these were the letters to my brother who have passed away when he was very young. I would read my school poems and try to write them in my notebook and started writing essays on different topics. I was 13 when I first penned a poem for my beloved Mother and since then I continuously managed to write in my daily diary. I've walked the tightrope of joy and  sorrow with each step shaping my emotional health, perspective and fueling my creativity. As a child of struggle, I've learned to find beauty in the darkness, and heart wrenching times of my life to weave hope from the threads of adversity. My poetry is a reflection of this journey, my reflection to the power of resilience and the human spirit. I aspire to use my words as a beacon of hope, to inspire others to find their own voice and to never lose sight of the beauty that surrounds us.

I am an introvert and growing up in a very wealthy family my hobbies were reading, writing, gardening as we used to own a very big farm so planting trees, flowers, vegetables and fruits and riding a bicycle in our farm were always a roller coaster ride for me. I always loved to play Badminton and some indoor games with my sisters and my beloved elder brother. I love watching romantic movies as well as horror movies. Growing up in a world of struggle, I've learned to navigate the complexities of human experience, finding solace in the power of words to heal, inspire, and transform. My eldest sister had suffered a brain hemorrhage and at that time she had a heart attack on the way to the hospital and she got paralysed tip to toe right side. It was a journey of heart wrenching times, with love and patience my family and I took great care of my sister and her children. My sister still is not on her own and needs assistance. So at a very young age I became a Mom of my eldest sister's beautiful children who fondly calls me their Mama and I couldn't be more proud of my life than to be called a Mom of these beautiful angels. Life was already so full of heart breaking events and then my Dad too got partially paralysed because of extreme cold weather during winters. And so my life is all about home and hospital rounds etc but I have hope and I believe one day everything will be better.

As a poet, I've always been drawn to the raw beauty of literature and language, the way it can distill the essence of my emotions, thoughts, and sad and bad experiences into potent, life-affirming expressions. Through my writing, I aim to capture the fragility and beauty of the human condition, exploring themes of love, loss, identity, and hope. My poems are a reflection of love and lost love. I admire the Moon and the Rose so much, so that these beautiful things are mostly visible in my poetry. My aspirations are simple: to use my poetry as a catalyst for connection, self love, self healing and empathy with all and self-discovery, to create a sense of community and belonging among those who share my passion for words; and to leave a lasting impression, a legacy that inspires future generations to cherish the beauty and power of poetry.
