Daniel Dresden is a fiction writer and poet currently based in Baltimore, Maryland. Though he currently calls Charm City home, Daniel grew up in the rural valleys of the Pocono Mountains, spending much of his early life in a sleepy but often eccentric hometown that fueled his imagination. From daydreaming about Arthurian knights questing in the forests behind his home to imagining the mountain fog heralding the arrival of ghostly specters, Daniel’s upbringing inspired a deep fascination with the mystical, the supernatural, and the metaphor that could be explored through those themes. The son of a veterinarian, Daniel is a lover of all animals, which is evident through their frequent inclusion in his work.

He is the proud father of two cats who provide a level of accountability to his otherwise bachelor lifestyle, and elements of that lifestyle are often reflected in some of his more realistic fiction stories and poems. 

Daniel began writing as a preteen, using fiction as a way to express himself and give life to the blossoming imaginary world in his head. After cultivating that passion throughout his adolescence, Daniel continued to write throughout college, where he discovered his love of poetry (actually by mistake when he picked up a Tupac Shakur poetry book), and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing.

Though fiction writing remained his passion, Daniel pursued a legal education after college, eventually becoming a lawyer, churning out briefs and memos very different from the fiction writings that first sparked his passion for the written word. Eventually, Daniel picked up the creative pen again, and began to work on a variety of writing projects from short stories to poems to longer form manuscripts. 

A forever fan of Stephen King, Anne Rice, H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe, and authors of the same vein, Daniel enjoys writing fantasy, sci-fi, and horror fiction, but his love of poets such as Pablo Neruda, Mary Oliver, Charles Bukowski, Oscar Wilde, and Rumi inform his work and inspiration in equal regard.

Daniel's abiity as a Poet and all round creative of repute is First rate and without question, as he was personally recommended by Global Bestseller, Joseph Spencer, as in his words "Daniel is an exceptional creative force and a breath of fresh air.
