Terence Stewart, a poet hailing from Wayne, Michigan, has lived a life  defined by  movement—both across the world and within himself. Raised in a small town with big dreams, Stewart always knew his path would take him far beyond the borders of his hometown. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, a decision that would shape the next 13 years of his life. The military gave him a passport to the world, allowing him to explore distant countries, meet diverse cultures, and see life from angles few experience.

During his time in the Air Force, Stewart visited places that were as contrasting as they were awe-inspiring, from the vast deserts of the Middle East to the serene landscapes of Europe. His experiences exposed him to the beauty and struggles of humanity, the impact of war, and the personal battles one faces in the silence of their own mind. While his time in the military was rewarding, it also came with challenges—emotional, mental, and spiritual. It was in these moments of reflection that Stewart found solace in poetry.

For Stewart, poetry became a way to process the world around him. With every deployment, every new country, and every new face, his understanding of life deepened, and he felt the need to put his emotions into words. “Poetry,” Stewart explains, “is my way of making sense of the chaos.
