Interview Exclusive

Exclusive Interview
Jacqueline Kimberly is a multiple Amazon Bestselling Author of "Confessions over Tequila".  She has enjoyed global acclaim and recognition since her book dropped late last year.  There are reports from the grapevine that Jacqueline is now primed to perhaps drop a second project.  She is an official member of the prestigious Collab Tour writers group as well, and below we get a scoop on the journey so far in this interview exclusive.

1.How has life been since "Confessions Over Tequila" dropped?

Life has honestly been a mix of excitement, vulnerability, and growth since Confessions Over Tequila dropped. Publishing something that personal taught me a lot about myself and about how deeply people connect to honesty in writing. I’ve had readers reach out saying certain poems made them feel understood, and that’s probably been the most rewarding part.
It also pushed me creatively. Since releasing it, I’ve become more confident in my voice as a writer and more intentional with my work. I’ve been continuing to build my audience online, working on new material, and developing my next manuscript, Fractured Euphoria, which explores darker humor, mental health, grief, and emotional extremes in a more evolved way.
Overall, life after the book has felt a little surreal at times, but mostly motivating. It confirmed for me that writing is something I genuinely want to keep pursuing long term.

2. Did you expect the level of success enjoyed so far by your book?

Honestly, no. I hoped people would connect with it, but I didn’t fully expect the level of response it received. Confessions Over Tequila was written from a very raw and personal place, so releasing it felt vulnerable more than anything.
I think what surprised me most was seeing strangers emotionally resonate with the work. When people save poems, share lines, message me about how they relate, or support the book without even knowing me personally, that’s when it really hits me that the writing reached beyond just my own experiences.
At the same time, the response motivated me to take writing more seriously. It made me realize there’s an audience for emotionally honest poetry that mixes vulnerability, introspection, and even dark humor. So while the success surprised me, it also encouraged me to grow even further as a writer.
3. Spencer refers to you as one of the shining lights of the Collab Tour. How has the whole experience  on the Collab Tour been like so far?

The Collab Tour experience has honestly been incredibly meaningful and creatively energizing for me. Hearing Joseph Spencer refer to me that way was both flattering and surreal, especially because I genuinely respect his creative vision and the community he’s built around writers.

One of the best parts of the tour has been connecting with other artists and realizing how many different voices and experiences can coexist while still emotionally resonating with people. It’s reminded me that poetry doesn’t have to fit into one mold to matter.

It’s also pushed me outside my comfort zone in a good way. Sharing work publicly, collaborating, and seeing audience reactions in real time has helped me grow more confident in my writing and in my identity as an author. The whole experience has felt very supportive, inspiring, and creatively validating.

4. News around suggests you have a new book coming out, please can you confirm this?

Yes, I can officially confirm that I’m currently working on a new poetry collection titled Fractured Euphoria. The manuscript is very close to being complete, and creatively, it feels like one of the most honest and ambitious projects I’ve worked on so far.
Where Confessions Over Tequila explored vulnerability and emotional confession, Fractured Euphoria dives even deeper into themes like mental illness, identity, grief, instability, obsession, dark humor, and survival. It’s more experimental emotionally and tonally, but still rooted in the same raw honesty readers connected with in my first book.
Right now, I’m in the final stages involving design, visual direction, and preparation for release, so it’s all starting to feel very real. I’m incredibly excited — and honestly a little nervous — for people to eventually experience it.

5.  What is the name of your new book and what is it all about?

My upcoming book is titled Fractured Euphoria. The title reflects the emotional contradictions throughout the collection — moments of beauty existing alongside chaos, humor beside grief, and clarity mixed with emotional instability.

The book explores themes like mental health, self-destruction, identity, loss, obsession, healing, and the strange ways people cope with emotional pain. Some pieces are deeply vulnerable and reflective, while others lean into dark humor and social commentary.

I wanted the collection to feel very human and unfiltered. It’s less about presenting polished perfection and more about documenting emotional extremes honestly — the uncomfortable thoughts people often hide, the contradictions within healing, and the complexity of trying to survive while still finding meaning, connection, and even humor in life.
6.  Any pressure to hit the heights of "Confessions Over Tequila" which was an Amazon Bestseller?

There’s definitely some pressure that comes with following up a book like Confessions Over Tequila, especially because I’m very aware of how much that project connected with readers. When something personal resonates on that level, you naturally wonder if you’ll be able to reach people the same way again.

At the same time, I’ve been trying not to let that pressure control the creative process. I think if I focused only on numbers, rankings, or expectations, the writing would lose the honesty that made readers connect with my work in the first place.

More than anything, Fractured Euphoria feels like growth to me. It’s darker, more self-aware, more experimental emotionally, and in many ways more vulnerable. So while I’d obviously love for the book to succeed, my biggest goal is creating something authentic that genuinely stays with people after they read it.

7. Your concluding words to your fans worldwide.

To everyone who has supported my writing, shared my work, read my poems, messaged me, or simply connected with a line that made them feel seen — thank you. Truly.

As a writer, you spend so much time alone with your thoughts that it can feel surreal when those thoughts eventually reach people across the world. The support I’ve received has meant more to me than I could ever fully explain.

I hope my work continues to remind people that vulnerability is not weakness, that humor can exist alongside pain, and that even the most fractured parts of ourselves still deserve understanding and expression.

And for anyone quietly struggling while reading this: your story is not over yet. Keep creating, keep feeling, keep surviving, and keep being unapologetically yourself.
